Auto Finance Dealers

Dealerships, banks, credit unions, and online lending companies are a few of the resources that are available as methods of auto dealer finance. The most important thing to consider when deciding on new car financing is if you're making the right decision that works the best for you.

Credit unions have started working with automotive dealers and still provide new car financing loans, but the criteria required to qualify is higher then what it would be at the auto finance dealers. This is quickly becoming a popular trend among the new car financing business because it benefits both the credit unions and the dealerships, but still allows consumers to get financing for the vehicle they want.

Is this the best option for me?

If you're not positive that this is the best option for you then check into new car financing through a bank. They don't usually offer the lowest interest rates because of federal regulations requiring full disclosure of all rates and fees, but it will give you the opportunity to do some comparison shopping and find out what is the option for your credit situation.

Is this my only option?

There is another option you may want to think about which is getting a home equity loan to purchase the vehicle outright. Cash buyers have many benefits when it comes to the negotiation process because dealers know that you are a guaranteed sale if they can give you a good deal by offering low interest rates and a low monthly payment. Make sure however that the repayment on your home equity loan isn't higher than your monthly car payment would be if you worked directly with the dealership for auto dealer finance. Also, make sure the monthly payment is one that you can afford; taking a home equity loan puts you in jeopardy of losing your home should you fail to pay your monthly payments.

Dealer auto finance has come a long way in recent years because of the change in the economy. Finance companies have loosened their stipulations to allow more people financing for new and used cars which is refreshing to know that even consumers with "tainted" credit, can still get the new car they have only dreamed of owning in the past.
